Prickles Patrol
Prickles Patrol features a hedgehog who tries their hardest to prevent forest fires. In this game, the player plays as Prickles the nature scout, and collects any items deemed fire hazards. The game is timed, and the player must complete each area before the timer runs out. If you collect all fire hazard items you win the game, but if the timer runs out the forest ends up burning down. Are you down to help Prickles save the forest? Then hurry up and play the game!
Prickles Patrol was a group-based project with five people in total working on the game. I was tasked mainly with Layout, Modeling, and Surfacing.

For Prickles Patrol my role was initially all over the place. I ended up dabbling in a bit of everything. I mainly ended up focusing on the layout of the game.
My first layout was based on concept art that my team members created.

I had created a Layout in Unreal with the concept art but it ended up being scrapped into the concept shown below. (Concept by Kosi Udeh)
Then I created the layout in Unreal focusing solely on the RV park.

Then expanded the layout later on.
When creating each area I stuck to the concept and only strayed if I saw that the area was too packed or empty. I always discussed with my teammates if I did end up making changes for their approval. I did the base, added the main props, and then populated the environment with trees, rocks, grass, etc…
I tried to make the whole campground look lived in both by people and the animals.

I mainly modeled three props in the game and surfaced them as well as other props. I also created some foilage for the park such as flowers and grass.
I created textures for the paths, ground, and water seen in the game.
